Len Tadvick , MD
I grew up in Houston and ever since have been gradually moving north. I attended Texas A&M University and graduated Cum Laude. I then went to medical school at Texas A&M and graduated with honors. During medical school I was active in many community activities and received the Ciba Geneva award for outstanding community service. During this time I was married and two years later had twin sons. After medical school my family and I moved to Temple where I did my residency training at Scott and White Hospital.
At Scott and White I not only learned to treat disease but also the person suffering from the disease process. In the case of pregnancy the use of education to ease the mind of the pregnant individual and family. During my fourth year I served as one of the Chief Residents and am the only resident to receive the Outstanding Resident Teacher award during all four years of my training. I also received the award for the fourth year resident with the best laproscopic surgical skills.
During residency I was also involved with research. During this time I received the Organon Research Award for Outstanding Research in Women’s Health, Patricia J. Sulak Award for the Best Paper at the 42nd Annual T.F. Bunkley Lectureship and Research day and the prestigious Pritchard Prize for Resident Research at the 72nd Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and District VII of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist, Texas Section.
I am Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
When not at work I am spending time with my family. My wife and I must thrive on chaos as we had our third child during my first year of residency. Through the Grace of God and a very understanding and dedicated wife we survived. Our usual activites include sports, camping, hunting, golfing and our new pastime “Ranching” (two cattle).
My wife and I both grew up in large cities and did not plan on living in West Texas. But God always has a better plan and we have been truly blessed since arriving in Abilene and could not be happier. I thank God every day for my profession and the opportunity to care for the wonderful individuals of West Texas.
The Fruit of silence is prayer
The Fruit of prayer is faith
The Fruit of faith is love
The Fruit of love is service
The Fruit of service is peace
