Coming Soon: Timothy Hill, MD

Dr. Hill was born in Houston and grew up in Midland, Texas. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas - Permian Basin and earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2009. He completed his residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego in 2013. He went on to serve as the Administrative Chief Resident during his fourth year of residency and earned the Recognition of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

Dr. Hill completed his service obligation in 2016 while at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune after serving there for more than three years, taking care of active duty women, dependents, retirees and their spouses. He became an OB/GYN hospitalist and worked at Hendrick Medical Center Labor and Delivery for two years and then left to become the Clinical Director of the OB/GYN Hospitalist Program at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

While at Henrico Doctors Hospital, he helped institute the Early Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program for cesarean delivery, decreasing the overall opioid use on the postpartum unit by almost 50%. He was involved in streamlining the massive transfusion protocol for cases of postpartum hemorrhage and assisted in organizing and coordinating the teams and plans for operative cases for patients with morbidly adherent placenta and other high risk obstetrical patients. As the clinical director and an active hospitalist, he was also active in supporting the midwife program that allowed patients to choose to have a low intervention labor and delivery process with a midwife supporting them. Dr. Hill also learned the new method for cesarean delivery, called a “family friendly” or “gentle cesarean” and is excited to bring this to Hendrick Medical Center. He has also become certified for outpatient management of substance abuse and can manage this during pregnancy, as well.

He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow in the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a member of the Texas Medical Association and Society of OB/GYN Hospitalists.

Dr. Hill’s wife retired from the US Navy in 2020, and they moved to Abilene with their four children.
